Chicago, IL — Second Floor Dance and Corpo Dance Company, in a joint venture, launch "The Atlas Agenda" with an inaugural concert showcasing male choreographers from throughout Chicago.  The concert features two evening-length programs over two weekends featuring the work of established and emerging male choreographers and dance artists. "The Atlas Agenda" premiers September 5 & 6 (Program A); and September 12 & 13 (Program B), 2008 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn, Chicago, IL.

Only one in ten professional dancers is male. Originally an artistic response to the established arts festival Estrogen Fest, "The Atlas Agenda" has evolved into a new annual dance festival focusing on men as a minority in dance and aims to celebrate the wide spectrum of choreography found within male choreographers in Chicago's dance community.

In their first artistic collaboration, Second Floor Dance and Corpo Dance Company, both known for their progressive mark on Chicago's dance community, present "The Atlas Agenda" which features 14 new danceworks divided into two separate programs. Both the dedicated dance enthusiast and the casual arts participant alike enjoy this show. Audiences will experience fresh, new work created by established and emerging male choreographers that runs the gamut from humorous and edgy to classical and provocative.

The Atlas Agenda features the works of Christopher Perricelli, Todd Kiech (male burlesque), Matthew Harvat (Circuit Mom), Ray Mercer, Culture Shock, Corpo Dance Company, Second Floor Dance, Mike Gosney (Elements Contemporary Ballet), Wilfredo Rivera (Cerqua Rivera Dance), Derek Rusch (Jay-Son Dance), Tom Porras, and Sean Dahlberg.

Second Floor Dance and Corpo Dance Company's "The Atlas Agenda" runs September 5 & 6 (Program A); and September 12 & 13 (Program B) all shows begin at 8pm at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts; 1016 N. Dearborn, Chicago, IL.  Tickets are $20 general admission presale and $25 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling 1.773.472.1921 or visiting www.atlasagenda.org.
